just muddlin can be tough

As I get older I find that I am content with the realization that I cannot achieve all of my plans, goals, and objectives. I wished someone had taught me that truth when I was much younger but, alas. To learn that lesson provides one with the mindset to learn to focus on those/that thing(s) you do well to the exclusion of other things.

Coming to recognize one's strenghts and weakness, at any point in time, and overtime, is a good, good, thing. Pride will prevent it unless one is able to kill that "beast" (as one friend put it) a thousand times a day. And many aren't because it's too much work or just too painful. Albeit worth the effort, admittedly, too often we give up and give in to our pride to the harm of ourselves and others.

Discover your calling and gifts early. SEEK continually the input of those whom you respect, admire, and esteem to give you honest feedback. Like the widow in the Scripture, persist til you get what you are looking for, then....apply what you have learned....AS you learn it.

Be always ready to receive correction and the rebuke of those who love you, else you be guilty of stubborn, persistent pride. Be always ready to give correction and rebuke to those you love or you thereby demonstrate your lack of love for them and/or cowardice. Doesn't a friend what to help? Isn't a true friend one who is willing "to lay his life down for another?"
